Affiliation Defined

Affiliation is a mutually supporting relationship between the RDVF and other organizations that support our mission either monetarily, through services or by actions. For example; The RDVF affiliates with The “Millennium Legacy Association of the 42nd Rainbow Infantry Division” because they have a mission that perpetuates the deeds and sacrifices of 42nd Division Soldiers. Their efforts help promote our Charity. Their organization also supports the RDVF by buying memberships (making donations) that supports the Foundation mission. Another example would be “Excelsior College”. We affiliate with them and advertise their programs on our website because they provide tuition incentives to our members (donors). In return we list our Affiliates on the RDVF website and provide links to their organizations. Also Affiliates can represent the RDVF at certain official functions and ceremonies as coordinated.

The Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Memorial Foundation is the nonprofit organization designated by Congress to plan, fund, and build the National Global War on Terrorism Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

42nd Infantry “Rainbow” Division Association

The RDVF is pleased to be affiliated with The 42nd Infantry Rainbow Division Association. The Association is based in New York State. The Association shares in the mission goal of the RDVF by perpetuating the deeds and sacrifices of its Soldiers and Preserving its History. The Association supports the RDVF by volunteering to represent The RDVF at memorial ceremonies and other official functions in the Greater NYC area. In addition the Association has made donations to the RDVF Scholarship fund through the years from fundraising events it holds.

The Association is a fraternal organization of former and present members of the 42nd Infantry Division. Their goals are:

  • Maintain Comradeship
  • Provide timely information to is membership via quarterly guest speakers
  • Care for our fallen soldiers and their families
  • Increase overall membership in the Association

The Association attempts to accomplish its goals by embracing the Regional Chapter configuration. The Association currently has two Regional Chapters; The Downstate Chapter (Five Boroughs/Long Island) and the Hudson Valley Chapter. Each chapter meets quarterly for lunch/dinner to share in camaraderie. Chapter leadership includes: Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary. The Associations’ role in monitoring chapter activities is one of “Oversight.” Both Association and Chapters are governed by procedures set forth in our By-laws. The Association has several social events each year which includes a West Point Golf Outing and Annual Meeting Dinner. Millennium Legacy Association of the 42nd Infantry “Rainbow” Division

The RDVF is pleased to be affiliated with The Millennium Legacy Association of the 42nd Infantry “Rainbow” Division. The Association shares in the mission goal of the RDVF by perpetuating the deeds and sacrifices of its Soldiers, preserving and sharing its history through RAINBOW TRAIL, its biannual history newsletter, researching Rainbow history for veterans, families and descendants, educators and historians and providing personal contact through its Facebook page. The Association supports the RDVF by volunteering to represent the RDVF at memorial ceremonies and other official functions. In addition the Association membership donates to the RDVF each year through their dues collection process. See them on Facebook!

Eastern Region Veterans Association of the 42nd Infantry Division

The Eastern RegionVeterans Association of the 42nd Infantry Division, (formerly the Eastern Chapter of the Rainbow Division Veterans Association) is a group of 42nd Veterans from WWII to present. The Association resides in the State of New Jersey but has members from New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and other Northeastern States. Members gather annually in Atlantic City to renew relationships and enjoy the camaraderie of their time in the Rainbow Division regardless of period of service. The RDVF is privileged to be affiliated with the Association because it supports the mission goal of the RDVF by perpetuating the deeds and sacrifices of its Soldiers and Preserving its History. The Association supports the RDVF by volunteering to represent The RDVF at memorial ceremonies and other official functions. In addition the Association membership donates to the RDVF each year through their dues collection process

Excelsior has been a leader in online/distance learning since 1971. Excelsior is highly regarded in the Military Community and has been ranked at the top of DOD’s select educational institutions for many years. Among their numerous awards was the 2015 Military Times “Best for Vets College” recognition. Excelsior provides RDVF members who are enrolled with the college tuition and fee reductions.
